Crack Inside Corner Repair

How do you fix cracks in walls in South Africa?

We would usually recommend crack filler to fill the crack in the wall but since the crack is in the wall AND the cornice, it makes better sense to use an acrylic sealant, such as Alcolin Acrylic Sealant, which is good for both the cornice and wall.

Polycell Plaster Repair Polyfilla is a specially formulated easy mix plaster repair powder which is much easier to apply and smooth out than ordinary plaster. It gives a smooth white finish to all masonry surfaces and will not slump, shrink or crack.

Diagonal cracks or those that look like a staircase going up a wall are more serious. These cracks could be a sign of structural movement or damage and should be investigated by a structural engineer.

Cracks that are diagonal or resemble stairs, as well as those around door frames and windows, could indicate significant structural concerns. Large ceiling-to-wall cracks with accompanying sagging may also suggest serious underlying damage to the structure.
